Toilet Rebate Program

Look for the EPA WaterSense Label

The Estero Municipal Improvement District (EMID) is offering a rebate of up to $75 to $125 (depending on model & GPF) on High Efficiency Toilets (HETs).

High Efficiency Toilets (HETs) are modern efficient toilets designed to use at least 20 percent less water than standard low flow toilets.  Although they use less water, they perform better than previous generations of low flow toilets. This program offers up to a $125 rebate for the purchase of a new MaP Premium HET, or a $75 rebate for the purchase of a new HET.

Follow this link to learn more about the Commercial and Residential High Efficiency Toilet Rebate Program.  The replacement of Ultra Low Flow (ULF) toilets does not qualify for this rebate. There is a lifetime maximum of three rebates per valid customer address, so please follow the steps below prior to purchasing a toilet(s).

Here are the steps to take to receive the rebate:

  1. Prior to the purchase of your HET toilet, contact the Public Works Maintenance Division at (650) 286-8140 to inform them of the toilet replacement.
  2. Purchase a MaP Premium HET which uses 1.06 gallons or less per flush,  or a HET toilet which uses 1.28 gallons or less per flush. Look for the EPA WaterSense Label.
  3. Install the new toilet(s). This can be done by yourself or any plumber that you choose.
  4. Return original receipt to the address indicated on the HET rebate application. It must be an original receipt(s) from the plumber indicating the installation date, or if you installed the toilet(s) yourself, an original purchase receipt.
  5. The rebate will be processed within 4-6 weeks.

Call Foster City Public Works at (650) 286-8140 if you have any questions before you purchase your toilet.

Thank you for making the EMID Water Conservation Program a success.
